Cadillac Eldorado Option Codes, 1960–1982
The Eldorado was a rear-drive limited-production luxury convertible (Biarritz) and hardtop (Seville, through 1960) until 1966, then the front-wheel-drive Fleetwood Eldorado personal coupe from 1967. Most options were line-wide Cadillac options — the complete per-year tables live in deville-calais.md. This document lists Eldorado-specific codes, exceptions caused by the FWD platform (no controlled differential, unique brake/tire options), and the 1979–1982 downsized E-body data.
Confidence: confirmed / single-source / disputed per division
methodology.
Years 1960–1966 (RWD Biarritz / Seville)
Much Eldorado equipment (power vents, remote deck lid, whitewalls, 6-way seat) was standard rather than optional. Line-wide order codes apply — see deville-calais.md. Eldorado-specific:
| Code | Description | Years | Models/Notes | Confidence |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Q | Eldorado triple-carburetor (tri-power) engine — 345 hp | 1960 | Eldorado engine optional on other series; kit "345-Horsepower Cadillac 'Q' Engine" (p.102), "standard on Eldorados and optional" (p.118), code Q on the accessory-code chart (p.194) ⛭ GM Heritage — 1960 Cadillac VVI, p.194 | confirmed |
| N | Power vent windows | 1960–66 | Listed line-wide but standard on Eldorado; 1963 kit: "power vent regulators ... are standard on Eldorado and Sixty-Special" ⛭ GM Heritage — 1963 Cadillac VVI, p.156 | confirmed |
| S | Remote-control deck lid | 1960–65 | Standard on Eldorado (this standard-equipment claim is unconfirmed); factory 1960 kit prints code S = "Remote Control Trunk Lock" line-wide (p.194) | single-source |
| — | Eldorado trumpet horn ("B-flat") | 1960–62 | Dealer-installed accessory | single-source |
| "B" trim suffix | Bucket seats | 1965–66 | Suffix on Eldorado trim codes | single-source |

Note: 1960 was the last year of the Eldorado Seville hardtop; the Eldorado Brougham (1957–60) was a distinct hand-built series whose equipment was essentially all-standard (no option codes to track).
