Pontiac Grand Am — Third generation (1985–1991)

The third-generation Grand Am was Pontiac's front-drive N-body compact for the 1985–1991 model years, a coupe from 1985 with an LE trim, a sedan and the SE trim added in 1986 (Wikipedia). The NICB VIN manuals list the Grand Am and Grand Am LE in 1985 and the Grand Am, Grand Am LE and Grand Am SE in the later years. No GM order guide, data book, Heritage kit or service RPO list for this Grand Am is in the archive, no Chevrolet kit shares its platform, and the Pontiac enthusiast sources in the tier map cover the Firebird, the Fiero and the 1997–2000 cars, not this one. Only engine and package codes are therefore listed: Wikipedia's Grand Am article and its engine articles name and date each engine and the one package, and no source read prints a transmission, axle, option, paint or trim code for this Grand Am with a year.

LT3 Engine, 2.0L L4, turbocharged, multiport fuel injection 1987–1989 165 hp, SE; Wikipedia's Grand Am article names LT3 in its infobox and says the turbo engine arrived in 1987 and gave way to LD2 as the SE's standard engine in 1989; its Family II engine article lists the Grand Am SE for 1987–1989 (not independent); cars with it carry a turbo boost gauge single-source
LD2 Engine, 2.3L L4, DOHC, multiport fuel injection (Quad 4) 1988–1991 Oldsmobile-built, 160 hp; Wikipedia's Grand Am article gives it for 1988–1991 (optional from 1988, standard in the SE from 1989, and the only Quad 4 with the automatic in 1990 and 1991); its Quad 4 engine article lists the Grand Am (not independent) single-source

Factory documents (T1)

No Pontiac factory document or Heritage kit for the 1985–1991 Grand Am is in docs/factory-docs/ or docs/heritage-ocr/ (the Pontiac RPO code lists there start with 1998), and the brief lists no Chevrolet kit pages, so none is cited.
