Pontiac 6000 — A-body, front-drive (1982–1991)

The 6000 was Pontiac's front-drive A-body midsize car for the 1982–1991 model years, a coupe and sedan joined by a wagon for 1984 (Wikipedia). The NICB VIN manuals list the 6000 and 6000 LE from 1982, the 6000 STE from 1983 and a 6000 S/E from 1986; the 1991 manual lists the 6000, 6000 LE, 6000 SE and 6000 STE for 1987–1989 and only the 6000 LE and 6000 SE for 1990–1991. No Pontiac order guide, data book, Heritage kit or service RPO list for the 6000 is in the archive, so the doc lists powertrain codes and a few chassis, comfort and emissions codes. Wikipedia's 6000 and engine articles name and date the engine codes on the 6000 and name the automatic transaxles only by unit; the Chevrolet Celebrity Heritage kits (its A-body twin) print most of the engine codes and the transmission ordering codes MX1 and MX0 for 1983–1989, and are the only source for the equipment and emissions rows (C60, F40, F41, G66, J50, K05, UA1, V08, NA5, YF5), which the kits date for the Celebrity and no 6000 source names, so all of them are single-source. No source read ties a paint, trim or package code to the 6000, so none is listed.
