Pontiac 1000 — T-body (1983–1987)

The NICB VIN manuals list the Pontiac 1000 as a two-door sedan (body 08) and a four-door sedan (body 68) for 1983 through 1987, and Wikipedia's Chevrolet Chevette article, where the Pontiac T1000 page redirects, says the T1000 was renamed the Pontiac 1000 in 1983. No GM order guide, data book or Heritage kit for the Pontiac 1000 is in the archive. The four rows below are powertrain codes only: the Chevrolet Chevette Heritage kits (the T-body twin) print them, and Pontiac-specific sources (the carwhere.com federal-record pages, the NICB Pontiac engine tables and Wikipedia's note on diesel Pontiac 1000s) show the Pontiac 1000 had a matching 1.6 L gasoline engine, a 1.8 L diesel, a 5 speed manual and a 3 speed automatic. None of those sources prints an RPO code for the Pontiac 1000, so every row is matched to its unit by meaning and is single-source. No source read ties an option, package, paint or trim code to the Pontiac 1000, so none is listed.
