    Chevrolet Chevette — T-body (1983–1987)

    The rows come from the GM Heritage Center kits for 1983–1986, which hold GM's MVMA specification forms: power team and engine pages every year, the 1983 option-weight page (it prints only transmission and engine codes), and the 1984–1986 option-weight pages, where each option is printed with its RPO code. The kits show the 1.6L L4 two-barrel gasoline engine (L17) and the 1.8L L4 fuel-injected diesel (LJ5) with 4 speed and 5 speed manual and 3 speed automatic transmissions. NICB's 1987 VIN manual (p.41) lists the Chevette, Chevette CS and Chevette Scooter car lines as hatchback coupes and sedans and CS 2-door and 4-door sedans; there is no 1987 kit, so no code is claimed for 1987. The 1983 rows rest on two pages of the 1983 Chevette kit (pp.7 and 26, the engine and transmission pages), which are genuine 1983 MVMA specification forms. The kits print no paint, interior trim or emissions codes, and the OCR of several option lines garbles the code, so some real years are missing (see Notes).
