Cadillac Fleetwood — D-body, rear-drive (1993–1996)

The 1993–1996 Fleetwood was Cadillac's rear-drive D-body sedan, the Cadillac version of the full-size B-body car: Wikipedia gives a four-door sedan only, with Fleetwood Brougham as the top option package, and the 1993 and 1996 NICB manuals list the Brougham (series DW) and, in 1996, the Fleetwood (DW) among the Cadillac car lines. Wikipedia gives the 5.7L L05 V8 and 4L60 automatic for 1993, and the 5.7L LT1 V8 with the electronically controlled 4L60-E from 1994, plus the V4P towing package. No GM order guide, data book, Heritage kit or RPO list for this Cadillac is in the archive (the gm.saturn.team Cadillac lists start in 1998), so only the engine and transmission codes and the towing package are listed: every code here is single-source (Wikipedia's Fleetwood, 4L60-E and small-block articles count as one source); the engine and transmission codes also cite the Chevrolet Caprice kits (order-guide power teams and MVMA specification pages with a printed model year) as same-platform sibling corroboration only, which never lifts a row and never proves that the Fleetwood offered them. The other options, paint and trim are a gap in the sources, not a finding that they were not offered.

Codes

Engines

Code Description Years Models/Notes Confidence
L05 Engine, 5.7L V8, electronic fuel injection 1993 185 hp; Wikipedia's Cadillac Fleetwood article names L05 for the 185 hp 5.7L V8 carried over for 1993 and replaced by the LT1 for 1994; shared B-body code; corroborated by the Chevrolet Caprice kit's 1993 order guide (p.10) and 1993 MVMA specification page (p.22), which print L05 (as LO5) in the power teams, the specification page's fourth column printing LOS (an S for the 5), which is not read; Caprice kit pages are sibling corroboration only (owner rule 2026-11-05) ⛭ GM Heritage — 1993 Chevrolet Caprice, p.10 ⛭ GM Heritage — 1993 Chevrolet Caprice, p.22 single-source
LT1 Engine, 5.7L V8, sequential fuel injection 1994–1996 260 hp; Wikipedia's Cadillac Fleetwood article names RPO LT1 and dates the upgrade 1994 and the V4P revision 1994–1996; shared B-body code; corroborated by the Chevrolet Caprice kit's 1994 specification page (p.38), 1995 order guide (p.7) and 1996 order guide (p.11); Caprice kit pages are sibling corroboration only (owner rule 2026-11-05) ⛭ GM Heritage — 1994 Chevrolet Caprice, p.38 ⛭ GM Heritage — 1995 Chevrolet Caprice, p.7 ⛭ GM Heritage — 1996 Chevrolet Caprice, p.11 single-source

Transmissions

Code Description Years Models/Notes Confidence
MD8 Transmission, 4 speed automatic, 4L60 1993 the hydraulically controlled 4L60 (Wikipedia's Cadillac Fleetwood article, which prints no code for it); the code is from Wikipedia's 4L60-E article, which names the 4L60 as RPO MD8 but lists the Fleetwood only for the 4L60-E years, so the code is matched to the Fleetwood by meaning; shared B-body code; corroborated by the Chevrolet Caprice kit's 1993 MVMA specification page (p.22), which prints MD8 in its power teams; GM's later lists reuse MD8 for a 4L70-E ⛭ GM Heritage — 1993 Chevrolet Caprice, p.22 single-source
M30 Transmission, 4 speed automatic 1994–1996 the electronically controlled 4L60-E; Wikipedia's 4L60-E article names it RPO M30 and lists the Cadillac Fleetwood for 1994–1996, which dates every year; shared B-body code; corroborated by the Chevrolet Caprice kit's MVMA specification pages for model years 1994 (the LT1 engine page), 1995 and 1996 (power teams, M30 with the LT1); Caprice kit pages are sibling corroboration only (owner rule 2026-11-05) ⛭ GM Heritage — 1994 Chevrolet Caprice, p.38 ⛭ GM Heritage — 1995 Chevrolet Caprice, p.18 ⛭ GM Heritage — 1996 Chevrolet Caprice, p.22 single-source

Packages & Trims

Code Description Years Models/Notes Confidence
V4P Package, towing 1993–1996 Wikipedia's Cadillac Fleetwood article names RPO V4P as the factory towing package, dates it 1993 and says it was revised 1994–1996 with the LT1 engine; the same article says the package was shared with the Buick Roadmaster wagon; the contents it lists are package contents and date no year, so none is a row here single-source
