Saturn SL — S-Series first generation, Z platform (1991–1995)

No GM factory list covers this car: the Saturn RPO code lists in the repository start at model year 1998. The rows here come from one Wikipedia article (T4), so every row is single-source and the article is the only dating: its first-generation SL section names the SL, SL1 and SL2 sedans for 1991 to 1992 with their engine and gearbox codes, and says the SOHC engine became the L24 for 1995. It dates no code for 1993 or 1994, and no row claims those years. The NICB VIN manuals show the car line: the 1991 manual (p.38) lists SL1 and SL2 beside the SC two-door, and the 1993 manual (p.40) lists the SL1 four-door beside the SC and the SW1 wagon.

Codes

Engines

L24 Engine, gas, 4 cylinder, 1.9L, multiport fuel injection, SOHC 1995 The article says the SOHC LK0 engine was given multiport injection in 1995 to make the L24; its other L24 mentions are the series-wide LK0/L24 slash form, which dates no year. [Wikipedia Saturn S-Series, first generation SL section] single-source
LK0 Engine, gas, 4 cylinder, 1.9L, SOHC 1991–1992 only in: SL, SL1. The article gives the SL and SL1 only this engine for 1991 to 1992; it dates LK0 for no other year. [Wikipedia Saturn S-Series, first generation SL section] single-source
