Saturn SC — S-Series first generation coupe, Z platform (1991–1996)
GM's Saturn RPO code lists in the repository start at the 1998 model year, so no factory list covers the first-generation Saturn SC. Its engine codes come from Wikipedia's Saturn S-Series article alone, which names a code for the SC only in a few year-dated sentences; it prints no transmission code with an SC year, so the doc has no transmission rows. The NICB VIN manuals show the car line: the 1991 manual (p.38) lists the SC two-door, and the 1999 manual (p.61) lists the SC1 and SC2 coupes in its 1995 through 1999 columns. Wikipedia dates the SC1 and SC2 names from 1993 and the coupe's production to 1996. Codes from the 1998 and later lists are not dated back to these years.
Codes
Engines
| Code | Description | Years | Models/Notes | Confidence |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| LL0 | Engine, gas, 4 cylinder, 1.9L, DOHC | 1991–1992 | Wikipedia dates it to the original single-trim SC "1990–1992"; only the part inside this doc's span is claimed, and it gives no later year; the description follows the article and omits the fuel-system wording of the later Saturn lists. Wikipedia (T4). | single-source |
| LK0 | Engine, gas, 4 cylinder, 1.9L, SOHC | 1993 | Wikipedia ties it to the SC1, which it says was added for 1993; the article dates no other year for the SC1's LK0 (it says only that the SC1 engine was upgraded for 1995), so 1994 is not claimed. Wikipedia (T4). | single-source |
| L24 | Engine, gas, 4 cylinder, 1.9L, multiport fuel injection, SOHC | 1995 | the multiport-injected version of the SOHC engine (Wikipedia's SL section); Wikipedia says the SC1 engine was upgraded to the L24 "for the 1995 model year"; it dates no later year. Wikipedia (T4). | single-source |
