    Chevrolet Spark — M400 (2016–2022)

    NICB's VIN manuals print the Spark for 2016 to 2022 in LS, 1LT and 2LT series, each with a manual or an automatic transmission, and add an Activ series from 2017; Wikipedia calls this generation the M400, built by GM Korea at Changwon, and says Chevrolet dropped the Spark after the 2022 model year. GM's 2017, 2018 and 2019 order guides (GM Authority's copies, held in the repository and cited [FD] by page: the 2017 guide, published March 25, 2016, the 2018 guide, published March 24, 2017 (GM Authority's file is named Sonic, but its pages are headed "2017 Chevrolet Car (2018) Spark"), and the 2019 guide, published April 6, 2018) list the LS (model 1DR48), 1LT (1DS48), 2LT (1DT48) and, from 2018, the ACTIV (1DQ48), all with the 1.4L LV7 engine and either a 5 speed manual (MR7) with a 3.91 axle or a CVT (MR8) with a 3.76 axle; the guides' column headings give each trim two equipment groups, one per transmission (1SA to 1SF, and 1SG and 1SH for the ACTIV). GM's change list for 2019, as GM Authority prints it, adds a restyled front end, projector headlamps, LED daytime running lamps on the 1LT and 2LT, two USB ports and low speed forward automatic braking, and replaces the MyLink radio (IOB) with the Chevrolet Infotainment System (IOR).

    Gaps: the repository holds the 2017, 2018 and 2019 order guides for this generation, and no GM order guide or RPO list was found for 2016 or 2020 to 2022. The 2016 rows come from GM's 2017 change list (the codes it deletes), as GM Authority prints it, and the 2018 rows T3U and TZD (and 2019 5PN) from GM's 2019 change list, as GM Authority prints it, where the 2018 guide does not date them, and from two GM service notices on NHTSA's site that name the LV7 and the MR8; the 2020 rows from GM Authority's 2020 Spark page; the 2021 rows from GM Authority's 2021 color pages; the 2022 rows from three GM Authority color articles. No source read gives a code for the engine, transmissions or equipment in 2021 or 2022; GM Authority's 2022 changes page names Mosaic Black, Nightfall Gray, Cayenne Orange, Red Hot and Mystic Blue as 2022 colors without codes, so those paint codes claim no 2022 year. Forward Collision Alert (UEU), Lane Departure Warning (UFL) and Low Speed Forward Automatic Braking (UHY), which the guides sell only inside the Driver Confidence Package (PCU), and the reading lamps (C95), which come only with the sunroof, have no rows; nor does the LPO Ground Effects Package (VTD), which GM's 2019 change list deletes but neither the 2017 nor the 2018 guide prints. Items the 2017, 2018 and 2019 guides print only as package contents (every availability mark "included with" or "included and only available with" a package or another option) take no year from those guides (rule 11(a)): the all-weather floor mats (VAV) and cargo mat (VLI) have no rows, the premium carpeted floor mats (VYW) keep only 2017, and the 2017 wheel inserts 5AL (Red) and 5AN (Gray), included with the 5WJ or SDV wheels, have no 2017 rows. Each model and transmission has a single mandatory equipment group (1SA to 1SH), so an item the 2017, 2018 or 2019 guide marks only "Included in Equipment Group" is group contents and takes no year from that guide either (owner ruling, 2026-10-31): the transmissions MR7 and MR8 keep 2017 (MR8 also 2016) from GM Authority's 2017 Spark page and the 2016 notice, with no 2018; the axles FX2 and GY6 and 19 items (5H1, 5PG, B52, B70, BTT, DLW, E21, FE1, GGC, K34, NQB, U2K, UC3, UD7, UDC, UQ3, UTJ, V34, V54), which only the 2018 guide could have dated, have no rows; AME keeps 2018, where the 2018 guide prints it as standard (S); 5PN keeps 2019 from GM's 2019 change list; and TTQ loses 2017 (the 2017 guide prints it only as group contents, and a later year's guide does not date it).
