Chevrolet Monte Carlo — fourth generation, G-body (1983–1988)

The kits sell one body, the 1GZ37 sport coupe: the SS model option (Z65) in 1983–1987 (the 1988 kit sells the SS, model 1GZ37, but no dated page prints Z65), the LS model option (Z09) in 1986, the LS name for the base coupe in 1987–1988, and the SS Aero Coupe (Z16) in 1987. Engines run from the 3.8L V6s (LC3, LD5, to 1984), the 4.3L V6 diesel (LT6, 1983) and 5.7L V8 diesel (LF9, 1983–1984) to the fuel-injected 4.3L V6 (LB4, from 1985), with the 4-barrel 5.0L V8 (LG4) throughout and the SS's high-output 5.0L V8 (L69, ordered as B4V from 1984). Every row comes from the GM Heritage Center kits: each year's dealer order guide and price schedules (1988's tentative price pages are not used as evidence, nor are the guides' alphabetical option indexes), plus the MVMA specification and optional-equipment weight pages, which for 1983–1987 also cover the El Camino (and in 1983 the Malibu) while the 1988 form covers the Monte Carlo alone; El Camino-only codes on those pages are left out. Brochure pages back Notes only: a page is dated only by a readable printed model-year field (controller ruling, 2026-11-04), and the brochure pages print none (only a folio such as '8/MONTE CARLO'), so MX1 1983, BW2 1987–1988, PD7 1987, U39 1988, UM6 1988 and V08 1987, which only brochure pages print legibly, are not claimed; for the same reason the price and MVMA pages whose model-year field is missing, blank or garbled are not cited (1984 pp.33, 47, 80; 1985 p.27; 1986 pp.81, 82; 1987 p.90; 1988 p.46; the 1984 and 1985 option price pages print only a production date), and MX1 1984, V08 1984, AM6, AR9, B93 and C04 1986, N90 1987 and Z65 1988, which rested on them alone, are left out (an MVMA page whose header prints the year beside the wrong label, as 1984 p.78 and 1988 p.79 do, counts as dated). Where a guide prints a code legibly only in its quick-spec table (item, code and x marks), the year is cited to a price or MVMA page of the same year that prints the code on its own line and a readable model year; where no such page does, the quick-spec row is cited, as a quick-spec row is not package contents by itself (controller ruling, 2026-11-04), and the row's Note says so. The 1983–1985 guides' accent color codes for the D84 custom two-tone (the paint color number plus M) are listed under Paint; the stripe (nnA) and vinyl roof (nnT) color codes printed on the option indexes are not listed in this doc, an open scope question for the owner, and neither are the two-digit paint codes or the four-character interior trim codes.
